For a minute, let us assume you have been doing the inner work- for a long or short while now.. you have been going to therapy... you have been attending those short courses, workshops and personal development programs.

Let us say you were not aware of it when you moved obstacles, then all of a sudden- things go well--- a little too well- for your own handling. You are used to pain and struggle, then- all of a sudden- things work out for you.

Your business suddenly booms (well, we both know how long that took you to get here- but...),... and you are no longer in pain, but you are now drowning in wealth--- something you wanted all your life, but when it comes, it causes you to fall out of balance- life balance. You are no longer in control and you do not seem to have anyone relate to your--- well--- what do we call it- oh yes! Sudden Success!

In fact, when you share, you are told to be grateful and quit complaining. "You are lucky..", they say.. and no one seems to understand your situation!

According to Investopedia, Sudden Wealth Syndrome (SWS) is a type of distress that afflicts individuals who suddenly come into large sums of money. Becoming suddenly wealthy can cause people to make decisions they might not have otherwise made.

Sudden wealth syndrome symptoms include feeling isolated from former friends, feeling guilty about their good fortune, and extreme fear of losing their money. You can read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/gUZwnRs

Often times in our entrepreneurial journeys, we learn resilience in the worst of situations (meaning we are well used to experiencing emergencies and putting out proverbial business fires) and plan for the worst but since life is balanced, it is only a matter of time before the tables turn and things start going well for us. It is not always the case, but it happens often- especially for us who do inner work, are consistent in our work and refuse to give up!

According to Investopedia, we can avoid Sudden Wealth Syndrome by:

1. Planning ahead to ensure that their wealth is spent wisely.

2. Avoiding making quick decisions about how to spend our money.

3. Maintaining discretion about their sudden influx of money.

In short, we are advised to plan for not just emergencies, but for good days too, because life being life- it often rewards those who are consistent in doing the right thing!

This is an invite, for us as entrepreneurs to look within, and not only believe that we are worthy of good businesses, but preparing well for those good good streaks that often come as a result of our hard work! Meaning, we may prepare for success just as much as we prepare for emergencies and yes- bad business days!

Sudden wealth does not have to overwhelm you, but when it does, we are here to offer you support!
